Jonathan and his wife Beverley set up Jonathan Partridge Opticians in April 1990. With the help of various tradesmen and friends we gutted, renovated and redecorated the Grade II listed buildingourselves. In 1996 we obtained the premises next door and expanded the practice. We are continually investing and upgrading all aspects of the practice to provide the best possible standard of eye care for our patients.

Our Welshpool practice is situated at the top of the busy High Street in a traditional Welsh black and white timber framed grade ii listed building. It occupies an enviable position opposite the townhall in the centre of the town. Our Newtown practice was architect designed and built in 1981 after outgrowing our original premises on Market Street. This double fronted shop is situated just a short walk from the post office and next to the Robert Owen Memorial Garden.

There has been an optical practice at 26 Bridge Street since 1966 when Optometrist Mr Trefor Lloyd-Hughes first opened. In 1970, Mr Adrian Hughes joined the practice working alongside Mr Lloyd-Hughesas a partner, taking over in 1975. Richard Saunders joined the practice in 2000 working alongside Adrian Hughes up until 2011, when Richard and local Optometrist Leo Schwarz took over.

Here at Phil Thomas Opticians we do our very best to make sure that we cover all of your eye care needs. Whether you need your eyes tested, Glaucoma screening, WECS testing, contact lenses, safetyspecs or even home visits. Our staff are friendly, professional and knowledgeable, so you're in good hands.
