It all started when I went looking for a pair of cool designer frames for my son Dylan. At the time he was nine years old and fairly short-sighted. As a mum and someone who appreciates the finerthings in life, I wanted him to have something cool and he certainly had his own ideas about style - to say the least. I knew that many of our young European counterparts wore snazzy eyewear - I'd seen them. I knew how much pride and confidence it gave them.
There's been an optician on The Green in Stanford-Le-Hope since at least 1960, when Reg Staunton and Clive Notley acquired the premises and turned it into Staunton and Notley opticians. Over the yearsnew owners have come and gone and provided the local population with high-quality, affordable eye care. In 2005 the current owner, Optometrist and local girl Lisa Neeps bought J N Ellis Opticians, as it was then, from Judith Ellis and in 2014 changed the name of the practice to Stanford Opticians.
