About the Business

After studying Ophthalmic Optics at Cardiff University for 3 years, followed by a year training in London, Tony joined the family business in 1977. His father suffered with Multiple Sclerosis and continued working for as long as he could till he had to retire in 1988. Since then he has continued the tradition of creating a professional yet personal and friendly service. He has a keen interest in Low Vision. He helped set up and run the Low Vision Aid clinic at Walsall Manor Hospital where we supply various specialist magnifiers etc. are supplied to those registered as Blind or Partially-Sighted.

It is a common misconception that blind people can see nothing at all - although their sight can't be fully restored, usually some difference can be made. Diabetes is one of the major causes of blindness in the U.K. Tony helped set up the Walsall Diabetic Eye Screening project. It extends from advice and repairs to insurance, to name but a few aspects.
